The Benchmade Griptilian is one of Benchmades Classics that has been around for years. The Griptilian is ranked one of the overall best EDC Knife that is in the knife industry. The Griptilian is offered in a variety of combinations with different blade steels and handle materials, you are sure to find something to best fit you needs. This Benchmade Classic has been upgraded to G10 handles and a premium steel. The 551-1 are made with Premium CPM-20CV stainless steel. CPM-20CV is virtually identical in chemical composition to the current M390 but is made in the United States. It offers better edge retention but not quite as tough as M390. The Benchmade Griptilian 551-1 also upgrades the handle material with textured grey G10 with blue G10 accent and blue barrel spacers. One thing stays the same is the award winning Axis Lock. Benchmade Knives are known for their design of the Axis Lock, it is functionally smooth and easy to operate. The Griptilian is designed by custom knife make Mel Pardue. Mel Pardue has been grinding Sparks, Making Knives and creating knives for 25 year and still counting. The Pardue Designs offer great utility to the everyday knife user while at the same time presenting an outstanding design and performance.If you are worried about the size, there are two different sizes to choose from. The Griptilian overall length is 8.07in. and the Mini Griptilian length is 6.78in. Whether you have large or small hands, either size of the Griptilian will fit your hand.
