Benchmade Bedlam series is an exotic designed, full size folding pocket knife series. The large middle eastern inspired knife was quickly deemed to be a new Benchmade classic. Now the Bedlam is available both in a manual Axis lock as well as automatic opening. The Bedlam pocketknife series is entirely made in America. The Bedlam is a very big folding knife with a 3.95 blade, an overall length of 9.71 and a weight of 7.1 ounces.The Modified Bowie shape of this knife is really distinct and is commonly refereed to as a trailing point blade or even a Persian style blade or as Benchmade says Scimitar. A scimitar is a back sword or sabre with a curved blade, originating in the Middle East.It is rumored that the 860 was originally designed for the guards of the Middle Eastern Royalties. The handle is also curved, to match the curve of the blade, plus there are finger grooves for proper finger placement. The organic texturing on the surface is a great counterpoint to the modern G10 scale material. At the end of the handle, there is a metal rear spacer that extends past the scales forming a point that could be used as an effective striking surface either when open or closed.
